Phobjikha Gangtey Trek

The Phobjikha Gangtey Trek is suitable for nature lovers. The trek takes you through the most isolated valleys of Bhutan, namely Gangtey Gompa, Phobjikha, Gogona, and Kothoka. While the central attraction of this trek is the beautiful picturesque landscape valleys and beautiful green forests of juniper, bamboo, rhododendron, magnolia, firs, oaks, spruce, dwarf rhododendrons, miniature azaleas, and cypress, The best months for nature lovers are April and early May, when the rhododendrons are in full bloom. En route, we can explore the monasteries of Gangtey and Gogona, which were established in the 17th century, and the Rinchenling Buddhist Collegiate in a nearby village. Gogona is popular for homemade local drinks and a blanket. Gangtey and Khotokha are the home for rare black-necked cranes in the winter season, while they used to migrate from the Tibetan plateau.
