50% Off on SDF

Bhutan is a green, sustainable, inclusive, and high-value tourism destination guided by the “high value, low volume” policy, aiming to contribute to the country’s socioeconomic development, featuring free healthcare, education, training, tourism and hospitality upskilling, improved infrastructure, environmental and cultural preservation, and more.
The daily Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) has been waived by 50% as part of the incentives and policy changes adopted by the Royal Government of Bhutan to strengthen its tourist industry. More tourists will come to the kingdom as a result, which will help the citizens and the SDF-funded initiatives.

NEW INITIATIVES & POLICIES

A 50% discount on the prevailing SDF of USD 200 will be granted to US Dollar paying tourists visiting Bhutan, with the effective SDF reduced to USD 100 per person per night.

In addition, A 50% discount on the SDF will be granted to US Dollar paying children aged 6 to 12 years visiting Bhutan as tourists. The discount will be USD 50 per children per night, while children under six can visit Bhutan without paying any SDF. The 24 hours SDF waiver for tourist s staying in the border towns shall continue.

NB. The above incentives will be effective from September 1, 2023, and will remain in effect for four years until August 31, 2027.
