The Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek is a picturesque trek that starts from nearby Thimphu and continues through coniferous forest while crossing beautiful high-altitude lakes. Golden and brown trout flourish in the turquoise mountain lakes, which are scenic because they are surrounded by many types of alpine flora and wildlife. In the spring, there is also an abundance of flowers, and many different kinds of blue poppies are in full bloom. Enjoy an amazing vista of the great Dagala range (4240 m), travel through meadows where wild asparagus and other small plants flourish, and stop at a yak herder’s camp where you’ll have the chance to get to know the locals. The trek culminates with a steep descent through a rhododendron-shrub-filled mixed forest.

Day 1: Arrival to Paro
On arrival at Paro airport, our representative from our company will greet you and assist in escorting you to the closest accommodation. an afternoon, followed by a visit.

Day 02: Hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest)
Drive to a hiking location after breakfast. The Taktsang Monastery is perched on a ledge of rock. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche, the second Buddha in Bhutan, is claimed to have arrived in the 8th century flying on the back of a tigress and meditated where Taktsang Monastery currently stands.
Lunch will be served in the town’s top tourist eatery. followed by a visit.
Evenings are free to stroll around Paro town. spending the night in Paro.
Day 03: Paro –Gyenkha- Gur (07km, 5 hours), Trek Starts
After breakfast, drive to Gyenkha village (2800 m). Start a track by descending to the till river and ascending gently along an excellent trail through green vegetation to a rocky platform, where there is a nice place to stop and rest. After two hours of trekking, you will reach Gur. The campsite is located in a meadow at Gur (3290 m).
Day 04: Gur – Lambatama (12km, 6 hours)
Starts from Gur and ascends to the alpine vegetation. After a few hours of trekking, the elevation rises, offering panoramic views of the valley below. If everyone adjusts well, we may continue upward to Pagalabsta La Pass (4170 m), offering excellent views of the Dagala range. We pass Labatama, a valley with yak herders’ houses, and arrive at a picturesque campsite near Utsho Lake 4300 m.
Day 05: Lambatama Halt
Day is for an excursion to any of the lakes: Relitsho, Setsho, Hensho, Jamatsho, Setsho, and Jagetsho. This would also be an excellent excursion and spot for some trout fishing. Your trip leader will tell you ethereal tales about these lakes.
Day 06: Lambatama – Panka (8km, 4 – 5 hours)
The trail ascends Dala Tsho’s western side to a saddle at 4,520m, offering stunning views of Himalayan peaks like Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, Jomolhari, Jichu Drake, Tshering Gang, Khangbum, Masang Gang, Tsende Gang, and Gangche Ta. An altitude of 4,720m is available for a more impressive view. The path descends, passing yak herder huts, Doccha Chhu, and Panka, with ascents and descents along the way. Overnight campsite 4000 m.
Day 07: Panka – Talekha – Thimphu (10km, 5 hours), Trek Ends
The route goes north and over a number of passes that get progressively more stunning. along with witnessing several different kinds of blue poppies and mountain birds. Lunch will be served at the intersection of two routes that lead either to Talekha or to Wangduephodrang. Passing through alpine and mixed vegetation (rhododendron, bamboo, and wild flowers), one can reach Talekha monastery and village, where our representative will be ready to drive you to Thimphu.

Day 08: Thimphu Sightseeing
after a breakfast visit.
Lunch will be served at a top tourist restaurant in town, followed by a visit.
